We are all filled with a longing for the wild. There are few culturally sanctioned antidotes for this yearning. We were taught to feel shame for such a desire. We grew our hair long and used it to hide our feelings. But the shadow of the Wild Woman still lurks behind us during our days and in our nights. No matter where we are, the shadow that trots behind us is definitely four-footed.

This image stirs my soul. Since the meditation challenge began in my group Moon Rhythms this idea of an inner wilderness has been on my mind. And this image captures the essence so beautifully. Once we get past the ego, our day-to-day thoughts, and insecurities, this vast wilderness inside of us is waiting to be explored. This is where our wild woman dwells. She wants to be heard. She wants to be acknowledged. She wants to be accepted.
But how do we let this happen?
Surrender and give in.
Let your intuition and primal nature guide you. Dance, create, hoop, drum, howl - just let her come out and play! Nourishing and tending to this wilderness will soon become a second home - a sanctuary to dwell within.
What does your wilderness look like? How do you nourish your Wild Woman?
It's time to be wild and free. Not tomorrow, not next week. NOW. We can only live and change in the present moment right now.
