BRIGHT STAR & BUFFALO
I'm honored to introduce our readers today to many artisans who create with beautiful intention. The star of today's post being Bright Star & Buffalo, and mother/daughter duo who creates stunning hand forged jewelry & home decor. The beaming yellow beauty featured in this post is their Solar Union Dvara Wall Hanging. Dvara is sanskrit for 'doorway'. They say they are openings to our highest human/spiritual potential. They are closures to that which we wish to let go of, leave behind and release. A beautiful piece full of just the right intentions for myself, to hang in my bedroom as a daily reminder.
I thought I would share this beautiful piece where it resides in my bedroom among many other special artisans. A little bit about each below...
This corner in my bedroom is the first thing I see each morning as I sit up in bed. I filled it with special handmade pieces from artisans, some I know... some I don't, some close to home... some far away. Beyond just the beauty of these material pieces, knowing the time and love that went into so many of them makes them so meaningful to me. As an artist myself who spends much of my time creating with my hands, I know the rewarding feeling of that item being cherished by someone out in the world. It's a beautiful energy exchange that happens.
I adore the handpainted work of Lotus & Nightshade. I have several of her stones, and have given several away as gifts. And I have a whole list of ones I still want to get. These rocks are some of my most treasured items in my home. This owl was the first one I received as a gift from a dear friend, and I'll never forget that door being opened to discovering this truly remarkable artist.
The hat you spy in the first two images is handmade from Whisler Civilian. Best little hat company I have ever known. The necklace hanging off of it I made for my personal collection.
The moment I saw my sweet friend Tiffany of Axis Moon post she was painting this buffalo I knew it needed to be with me. Buffalo reminds me of my best friend and I have just always had such an attraction to them. There is a field of them on the way to a nearby town that I've admired for years. The colors in this painting are my colors. It's just incredible. Tiffany is one of the most talented artists I have come across, so versatile and true to herself, and I have had the pleasure of meeting her in real life and she is one of the sweetest souls I have ever met. Love at first site.
This little mini beauty was also created by Bright Star & Buffalo.
This photo of my parents is my favorite one I have. They used to joke that the smoke in the background was from their kiss (they were sitting in front of a campfire)... ha ha. Yummy handmade soy wax candle from Luna's Locket.
Art by Charmaine Olivia. I made the deer heart fossil dreamcatcher.
The Earth's Gems has the most beautiful collection of crystals!
I'm in love with my Coco Chispa pieces. She is such a true artist. This little cactus mug is my favorite piece I have.
My friend Justin of Starchaser Woodworks created this beautiful reclaimed wood tarot card holder for me. He is creating some serious magic out of old barns he is tearing down to reclaim the wood from. He just got married to my friend Katie and I couldn't be happier for the two of them!!!
