Hello, I'm Laura Mazurek, the girl who created this space you are in called The Bohemian Collective.  Since I was a young teen, I have always dreamt about owning a boutique where I would bring together all of the amazing artisans that I admired.  As I got older, and established my primary business, Roots and Feathers, online, I realized that those dreams were long gone.  Until one night, I had a vision of creating a virtual representation of that lifelong dream.  And this is The Bohemian Collective.

I created a vision of being able to work with many of my favorite designers in a way that is creative, inspiring, and benefiting to all who is involved.  Instead of focusing primarily on selling everyone's work, I decided to keep it more light and fun, through creating visual lookbooks featuring all of the artisans together.  This has tied together my deep love for photography, fashion art, bohemian style and the handmade community.  It is my creative side hobby that allows me to fulfill this dream of mine and get to talk about and promote other artisans who I believe in, which is one thing I am madly passionate about.  I believe us artisans are a community that should not be just self fulfilling, but spreading a one love atmosphere of support and encouragement to each other.  We are changing the way people view the world, and that needs to spread like wild fire.

Our lookbooks are all photographed by myself or photographer Katelyn Demidow of Gypsy Moth Sol.  She is an amazingly talented girl who has dedicated much of her time to creating the beautiful images you see in the lookbooks.  When she is not available to be on a shoot, it is all shot by myself, as well as styled and modeled.  As much as I wish, there is no big fancy team behind these babies.  They are all 1-2 people spending countless hours behind the scenes, gathering the artists, creating concepts, building shoots, photographing, editing, releasing and promoting.  It is usually a very organic process, and some take longer than others to be released.

Each of the artists are picked by me, although several have been selected after someone has sent me an inquiry about being included.  I have limited space and a specific vision with each look, but I am always open to inquiries.  If you would like to see some of your designs featured in one of our lookbooks, please feel free to email me through this contact form.  I may not be able to include something right away, but I always keep a running list of artists who are interested, so if a specific vibe comes up, I will reach out to you if your product is a good fit.  There is a $25 fee for having your product featured, along with the product itself.  Any products featured will not be returned.  This has been the best way to keep it affordable for small handmade artisans to have their work featured.  There is also an option to pay a $50 inclusion fee if you would like 50% of your proceeds to go to the charity we are currently supporting.  See more info on that here.  We are really hoping to reach an audience of artists who not only would love to have their products featured in our creative lookbooks but also have the desire to give back.

Since this is a low budget side art project, I can use all the help I can get from anyone who loves what we are doing and would love to spread the word or help out in any way.  Countless hours go into this vision, to share it with the world.  Here are a few ways you can help spread the love of all of these amazing artisans and their passions:

*Become a sponsor and spread the word about your shop.

*Share this blog, or blog posts, or lookbooks on your own blog, and social media.  (you must always properly link back and credit if you do share, please keep this in mind)

*Share our images on pinterest, with proper links back to this site.
