My Journey Into Motherhood Outakes
In the summer issue of the Bohemian Collective magazine I am sharing my story of my journey into motherhood, with a fun little story about my mother and I when I was a teenager. Ava and I got our first professional photos taken of us for the spread, and these are some of the extras that didn’t make it to the pages, only b/c there was not enough room. (so if you want to see the best ones, go pre-order the magazine, they are so so precious)…
The photo above is one of my favorites and probably closest to our true personalities. My little Ava Pearl loves to be silly. I am honestly completely amazed with how well this shoot went. Ava typically HATES to wear dresses, so I was afraid we were going to begin with a total meltdown, but for some reason she didn’t mind this one at all that day. (btw, our beautiful matching dresses are from Little Gypsy Co.) We met up with our photographer friend Brandi in the front yard of a home that was for sale. She had warned us it was risky b/c the last time she stopped there a neighbor came over and yelled at her, but the never-ending field of wildflowers was worth the risk. Funny enough, the actual owner of the property was walking down her driveway while we began to shoot so we got to meet her and she was the nicest woman who completely welcomed strangers to take advantage of the beautiful scenery they had cultivated over the past 7 years. She even said she has told her neighbor before to leave people who stop alone, ha ha!
We ended up going to 3 different locations of flowers and I truly thought that Ava would have lost it, but she kept on for about 2.5 hours of shooting! I can’t brag on our photographer Brandi enough. She knew exactly how to work with a little in front of a camera. I learned so much from just watching her. If you are a local you should definitely connect with her to get your photos taken. (brandimorganphotography.net) I am so honored to have these photos to treasure forever. Now I want to have more taken!
